Critz Tybee Run
Problem
The Critz Tybee Run is a beloved marathon festival in Savannah, but despite its long-standing tradition, it lacks widespread recognition. Many families and potential participants are unaware of the event, missing out on a fun, energetic experience that welcomes all ages. The challenge was to create a compelling social media ad that captures the excitement, inclusivity, and energy of the marathon while making it stand out in a crowded digital space.
To bring the Critz Tybee Run to life, I designed a kinetic typography animation inspired by Nike’s bold, high-energy branding. Using dynamic text, fast-paced motion, and a bright, vibrant color palette, the ad delivers an infectious sense of movement and excitement, reflecting the fun and community-driven spirit of the event. The typography pulses, stretches, and sprints across the screen, mimicking the rhythm of a runner’s stride and making the message impossible to ignore.

Early Styleframes (Oct 2).
The style frames were designed to be animated with fast-paced keyframes. However, some of the frames didn't match the overall design scheme of the project, giving the impression that they belonged to a completely different video. To address this, I developed a cohesive design system that featured sans serif fonts, footage of the marathon, and textures and scribbles that added density to the frames. I removed excessive colors and illustrations, resulting in an overall design that was minimal yet energetic.
